Governor Welcomes Teams

Governor John S Duncan OBE being presented with a special tie by the Dutch crew on Team Escapers – Libeccio who dressed for the occasion at the Governor’s Reception!

 The Governor of the British Virgin Islands, John S. Duncan, OBE welcomed crews from over 17 different nations to Government House in celebration of the international sailing spectacle; the 46th BVI Spring Regatta. Earlier, he had raced on Maritime Heritage Day aboard Youth Instructor, one of the island’s historic sloops in the 4th VP Bank Tortola Sloop Spring Challenge. Awards were presented during the evening by Sjoerd Koster, President of VI Bank (BVI).

Cameron McColl, Chairman of Nanny Cay Resort and Marina, regatta hosts for the past 15 years, welcomed sailors and Judy Petz, Regatta Director thanked the many volunteers, sponsors and supporters who work tirelessly to make this event happen each year.
